McCormick's Factory

At first glance, this photo reveals a run-down sanctuary, that’s fenced in, has shattered windows, some being boarded up and an old raggedy sign that is outdated and has been taking over by mother nature’s duties. Which is all correct, it may not look like much and has been missing the quality of life for a while now, but with further investigation this building holds a lot of history as it was once a well-known candy and cookie factory. Offering occupations for many individuals back in the early 1900 hundreds, which was followed by the most recent company Beta Brands who left the site vacant back in 2014 and further established it to be an old heritage site (Schouten, 2021). Among these large forbidden walls of what appear as an old failed industry to many, or a waste of space but there is a story behind it and it allows us humans to connect it with society (Ghosts of Work in the First World, 2011). It helps individuals connect with society by doing further research or exploring locations to expand on their knowledge as history is a vital aspect in which allows us to feel an intimate human connection with the people immediately before us but also initiatives us to think about where we are going next (History, 2011). Perusing us to take value in what occurred prior to our time and continue to discuss future steps.
